“Ordinary women in Extraodinary Circumstances”

Sistering

I am proud to be a part of the fundraising committee for Sistering, a women’s agency serving homeless, marginalized and low-income women in Toronto.

It’s a place where women can go to get shelter, socialize in a multi cultural environment- free from judgement, to release stress, have a free breakfest and lunch (they serve 200 lunches a day), shower facilities, employment opportunities, help find housing, donated clothing as well as health and well being programs and services.

Their 10th annual signature fundraising event, “Funny Girls and Dynamic Diva’s” will take place on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Bluma Appel Theatre in Toronto. The evening commences with an amazing silent auction and reception at 6:00 p.m. The show features some of Canada’s top female comedians and musicians;

Show host:  Funny girl-> Elvira Kurt ; Comedy Headliner-> Sandra Shamas ->Musical Guests: Jane Bunnett;
Laura Fernandez ; Luanda Jones ; Shakura S’Aida ; Liberty Silver

A few of the items up for the silent auction are; a Free Burlesque lesson from Intercontinental Burlesque Star, Coco Framboise, A one of a kind art work from International Graffiti artist Joel Richardson and a one hour free training lesson from Push Performance Trainer, Mace Freeman!!
